Juergen Friedrich-Monosuite: "Relationships, be they simple or complex in nature, are at the heart of this work, helping to make 'Monosuite' a fascinating listen from beginning to end." (Dan Bilawsky, allaboutjazz.com) [mh]

Jason Seizer is known for his uncompromising musical sincerity and his carefully considered play. He's a quiet one. Someone who doesn't make much to do about nothing. Someone who would rather let his beautiful, subtly placed tone do the talking. Displaying his musical muscles and partaking in verbose self-aggrandisement is not his style. What Jason Seizer has to say he says through his music, and what he cherishes most in this music is a highly polished economy; he walks away from musical directions that are heading towards excess. These virtues are also imprinted on "Time Being". With his new CD, the Pirouet label's artistic director hands out his latest personal musical calling card.

Press quote:

"... With so much internal symmetry, it is hardly surprising that the new work (with Jochen Rückert on the drums and Henning Sieverts on the bass) has become one of the most interesting warm-ups of recent times from the German provinces. ..." (Reinhard Köchl - Jazzthing, Germany)

Press quote:

"... Because Seizer, this strict solitary person has been someone who has been worth listening to for years. He has a powerful, finely modulated tone on his tenor saxophone. He can bring ballads to an enriched shimmer of colors and load speedy "Bepop" phrases with a rough brilliance and luminous powers and, above all, he knows how to dose his tones in such a way that there is never the impression of blank eloquence. ..." (Roland Spiegel - Abendzeitung, Munich)
